Razz hated this... [break][break]

Not a simple dislike, not a didn't favor, no he hated this. The only reason he had come to this thing was because it was some sort of charity thing or whatever. He was all for trying to give, even if it was never much, since most the money was going to help those who needed it after the war. What he didn't expect was for Salem to suddenly come over to him with a nametag and pamphlet. Apparently the damn cat decided to sign him up for 'mistletoe matching' whatever the heck that was, which required meeting new people. A thing Razz did not favor when he wasn't on a mission. [break][break]

So for now he was just sitting at some random table with his head down on it and arms over as if hiding, not intending to look for whoever he'd be paired with as Salem got himself a drink and a small plate of doughnut holes. The Mewostic made sure to have his trainer's nametag on the table to easily be seen as he looked for what read 'Izumi.' He knew someday he was going to regret teaching the little bastard to read as he could hear Salem start calling someone over. Razz looked up enough to see who it was to relax slightly at the semi-familiar face. Though it seems the Ranger wasn't much in the mood for a normal chat. [break][break]

"You wouldn't happen to be looking for a Meowstic would you?" he asked not entirely sure just how much he was joking at the moment. Said Meowstic just sticks his tongue out at him before biting into one of the doughnuts.

Izumi had signed up for this… crazy shenanigans. Well, she was maybe more than a little disappointed that Josh wasn’t around, but hey, at least she got the chance to mingle with whoever else decided to show up.

Today’s companion was someone—someone she was familiar with, thank Arceus! Chuckling softly, she looked down at the Meowstic and pretended to wag a finger in its direction.

“Well, I dunno about you but look who I found hanging around near the buffet table,” Izumi chuckled as she gestured at the not-so-guilty looking Meowstic that was totally munching into one of the pilfered donut holes from the snack area of the buffet.

“So—how’ve you been?” she inquired as she sat herself down, no-holds barred into her seat. Watching a frazzled wait staff come over, she couldn’t help but feel sympathy for the poor guy.

“Just hot chocolate with extra mint for me,” she said in the staffer’s direction, before tilting her head in Razz’s direction. “Anything you want that they have? Apparently it’s all ‘free’, so…”

"I doubt this would be much of a charity drive if they started giving things free here," Razz can't help but comment his head still under his arms as he still wasn't feeling the forced interaction. Though He really didn't want to be rude to someone he knew, even if it was only a little so he did force himself to look up at least even if he was still hunched over. He waved off the waiter working as if he wanted something he could send Salem to go buy it. [break][break]

"Well besides the forced interaction cause the cat I taught to read signed me up, ummm fine I suppose?" he answered not realizing how more of a question he made it sound like than a confirmation. "Just working mostly as I don't really have hobbies, what of you?"

“Ooh, look. He’s snickering,” she gestured, pointing at the Meowstic, who was still eating donut holes in plain sight. “Is he always like this?” she asked, watching as the Pokémon continued to eat the sweets that it had managed to get ahold of.

“Right now, well… believe it or not I didn’t hear much about the fighting until after it was over. Had to stay in Lavaridge to take care of the older people there, considering my mom’s part of their group. Well, she’s not that old yet, but we have a café over there. Should you come by, let me know—I’m looking for people who can taste-test new stuff we make.”

Did she really drop all that in just one go? Definitely.

The young man just blinks at the other, a bit bewildered about her mentioning not knowing much of the fighting that went on. Though he supposes having to take care of others seems like a good enough excuse to keep out of it all. Thankfully he didn't have that responsibility himself so he honestly couldn't relate, but the young man could take a guess. Honestly it might have been for the best for her. At the invite he ponders for a bit before shrugging, "Sure, I could give that a shot," he mentions before Izumi mentions Salem snickering. [break][break]

It takes him a moment to realize that the Meowstic had left the table and was now on his way for more, "Hey I said no more!" he calls to them as sugary things is something he made sure to limit the cat too. Though it seems like they were ignoring the rule as he was still heading off, "Just when he's a brat," he comments as he gets up, bowing his head to the other in appology. "Sorry I need to get him before he gets more, until next time." [break][break]

And with that he went off to get his cat.
